Vitrage (from French vitrage - glass), or a stained-glass window is the most ancient type of monumental painting which represents an ornamental or narrative composition made from glass or other translucent material. There are several types of vitrage, depending on manufacturing technique: classic vitrage (“Tiffany” technique), stained glass overlay, painted glass, film stained glass and combined vitrage.
