Alexey Alekseevich Drilev was born on August, 30th, 1938 in village May Day Altay territory. After the termination of the eighth class and before conscription "Avant-guard" of Slavgorod worked as the assistant to the film mechanic at a cinema. With 1957 for 1961 served on Pacific fleet. After demobilisation, studied in the Kazan art school, and then at the Leningrad institute of painting, a sculpture and architecture of I.E.Repin where has received vocational training of the artist at the glorified painters A.Koroleva and J.Neprintseva. In 1965 still, being the student of art school, Alexey Alekseevich has taken part in a zone exhibition «Big Volga» passing in Bitter work «the Volga open spaces» which is now in a collection of a museum of River fleet of a city of Kazan.

In 1970 A.Drilev comes to Barnaul and actively joins in an art life of a city. The picturesque and graphic works participates in regional, zone, and foreign exhibitions. Works and in the field of a book drawing much, by it it is issued more than ten book editions. Besides, by the artist have been organised and spent more than ten personal exhibitions in cities: Barnaul, Biisk, Novosibirsk, Slavgorod, Bristol (England). In 1995 Alexey Alekseevich has been accepted in members of the Union of artists of Russia.

A.A.Drileva’s creativity is many-sided and various, is based on the best traditions of Russian realistic school. Working in different genres: the portrait, a landscape, a thematic picture, the master accurately displays the modern world.

The portraits executed by Alexey Alekseevichem, are not limited to only external similarity.
