Artists / Minsk Museum of Modern Art

One of the newest museums in the Republic of Belarus - The Museum of Modern Art - was founded in October 1997. The Museum is headed by Belorussian artist and professor V.P.Sharangovich. Creating a new type of museum as a cultural and information center, where the phenomenon of contemporary art would be found not only a reflection, but understanding, carrying the idea of forming creative research, enhance the art-thought. Thus, there were some major activities of the museum: preparations of the collection and study of the subject of contemporary art in all its richness trends, styles and shapes; conferences and symposia; making its own video library and data bank and a number of other projects.
The museum currently has over 1,500 paintings, drawings and sculptures, and gives an idea of the wide range of creative trends relevant to the present.
