contemporary

Contemporary - style of interior design which was formed at the end of 19th century. It is based on Scandinavian style. Main features of contemporary are laconism, comfort, functionality, interchangeability of interior items; clear forms, smooth surfaces, straight and slightly rounded lines.
For contemporary style it is common to have subdued color palette, including more of white, creamy, grey and brown shades. Neutral scale is the background for bright-colored furniture, textile, accessories or paintings. Last can be found in any styles: ethnic, classic, pop-art, retro, vanguard etc.
